Tree Surgery in and around Co. Durham

Wilkinson Tree Care provide a professional service, offering tree surgery throughout Teesdale and Co. Durham. We are based just outside Durham City and cover the whole of Co. Durham. We also operate from Middleton-in-Teesdale so offer tree services to Barnard Castle and surrounding areas.

All of our Tree Surgeons are qualified with NPTC -City and Guilds. We provide all aspects of tree surgery and tree related services including:

• Crown Reduction - To reduce the overall size of the tree, to help maintain the health of the tree and reduce the weight.
• Crown Lifting – To remove the lower branches of the tree to allow more light into you’re garden.
• Crown Thinning – This does not alter the overall shape or size of the tree, but reduces the amount of smaller branches within the tree, to allow more light to pass through or reduce the overall weight of the tree.
• Felling – The process of removing a whole tree to ground level.
• Stump Grinding - This is the process of removing the stump from the ground up to 16" below ground level. The hole is then filled with the woodchip/mulch which is created from the stump removal. This is generally used if you're looking to plant up the area or put a fence where the stumps were.
• Wind blown tree removal – Wind blown and damaged trees and branches removed safely

• Pruning – Practice including the removal of selected parts of the tree to improve and maintain the health of the tee.
• Tree Planting – We offer planting of trees in many aspects, We can provide a service to plant you one tree in your garden or 1000 trees to produce a wood or forest.

• Hedge Trimming and Shaping – To reduce or shape a hedge or conifer to your specifications. We offer Hedge trimming throughout Teesdale and Co. Durham. Many hedges benefit from being trimmed several times a year where as others tend to be manageable with annual cuts. It all really depends on the owners preference and the environment in which they are situated. Privet and laurel ,for instance, generally grow quite fast so often require being trimmed multiple times a year.
